OUR FOUNDER ERDOĞAN ÖZGÖRKEY
Erdoğan Özgörkey was born in 1933 in İzmir. He graduated from School of Business and Economics in 1955. In his business life that he started as an apprentice in his father’s timber shop and his brother’s shop for machine engine, he experienced his first business experiences during his secondary school years. When he turned 18, his name was in Trade Registry as a partner of his brother’s shop. In 1st of March 1957, he founded Modern Mobilya producing home and office furniture.

His biggest dream in that period was to have a store which he would open and close and for which he would keep accounting records. But his works were far beyond his dreams in that period.
By founding Coca Cola’s İzmir facilities under the name of İmbat Beverage Industry with his partners in 1967, Erdoğan Özgörkey became the head of Company Management.

He laid the foundations of today’s Coca-Cola Beverage Companies. He worked as a President in companies engaged in the production, sales & marketing and distribution of Coca Cola Company products in Aegean and Mediterranean regions between 1968-1998. With experience in the facilities opened in İzmir Bornova in 1968, in Antalya in 1982, in İzmir Kemalpaşa in 1986 and in Işıkkent in 1990 during this process, he brought his experiences abroad with two Coca Cola factories established in 1991 in Galati and Constanta, Romania.
In 1997, he laid the foundations of Erdoğan Özgörkey Group of Companies whose whole capital belonged to Erdoğan Özgörkey family, with his sons Murat and Selim Özgörkey.

Being a part of partnership created after all Coca Cola operations were gathered under a single roof in 1998, Erdoğan Özgörkey trasferred his 31 years of production, sales & distribution and marketing experience in this field to the field of frozen food and began a new investment in 1998 in Torbalı with his sons Murat and Selim Özgörkey.

Construction of food facility established underthe name of Özgörkey Gıda Ürünleri A.Ş. was completed in less than two years and was put into operation in 2000. Under the presidency of Erdoğan Özgörkey, Özgörkey Gıda became the largest and the most modern frozen food facilities of Turkey in terms of fruit & vegetable and potato products capacity.

With an agreement made in 2001with Borusan Otomotiv which is the distributor of BMW, MINI and Land Rover automobiles in Turkey, Erdoğan Özgörkey led Borusan Otomotiv Authorized Dealer and Service to come into service under the name of Özgörkey Otomotiv in 2002 in İzmir.

Erdoğan Özgörkey established ÖZTAR Tohumculuk ve Tarım Ürünleri Üretim (ÖZTAR Seed and Agricultural Products Production) business in 2003 with future vision for both his group companies’ and Turkey’s seed needs. Erdoğan Özgörkey Group of Companies provided thousands of employment opportunities in the field of agriculture together with Ege University and Agricultural Research Institutes with investments made in industry and agriculture.

Özgörkey Laundry which is the first investment of Erdoğan Özgörkey in tourism sector which was the desire of him for many years, was put into operation in 2006 with renewal of old Coca Cola factory building in Antalya with investments made in this sector to serve tourism as industrial laundry. Facility has become Turkey’s number one in its field in the sector in terms of capacity, standard and technology.

Key Hotel which is another investment of Erdoğan Özgörkey related to tourism sector and İzmir’s most modern and first design hotel, was put into service in September 2011 after former Central Bank building having an award winning design was restored.
Erdoğan Özgörkey who is interested in landscaping outside of work, always adds something of himself even if he gets support of the landscape architects in landscape gardening of his house and factories.

With his business life full of industrial, commercial and international partnerships, Erdoğan Özgörkey is a leading and exemplary business person in trade, industry, professional management not only for İzmir but also for Turkey.
